A Nation Is Born
Once Thomas Jefferson's task of writing a document for the people to be united was completed, congress prepared to act on it right away.
Congress voted in favor of independence on July 2nd, and on July 4th, 1776 the
Declaration of Independence was adopted into this nation.
When Jefferson was finished, he wrote, "we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."
“He makes peace
in your borders, and
fills you with the

Psalm 147:14

The Pledge of Allegiance
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.  And to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation, under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
The Pledge of Allegiance was written in
Boston in connection with the 400th anniversary of America's discovery,  October 12, 1892.
Congress officially approved the Pledge on June 22, 1942, and on June 14, 1954 (Flag Day), the phrase "under God" was added.
Praise God, United We Shall Stand
I Love America because...
She is respected and stands for greatness throughout the generations.
George Washington became a leader in the cause of American Independence and earned the title "Father of his Country."  The Washington Monument shows Americans' gratitude and serves as a tribute to the first President of the United States.
"The destiny of America was proclaimed in words of prophecy spoken by our first President in his first inaugural in 1789.  Words almost directed, it would seem to this year of 1941: The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty and the destiny of the republican model of government are justly considered...deeply...finally, staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people."
President F.D. Roosevelt
Flag Facts:
It is custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset outside.  However, the flag may be displayed twenty-four hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness.
The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
