Rumors of War
"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars.  See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet." (Matthew 24:6 NKJV)
Where were you when the announcement of war broke?  Were you having a quiet time with family and friends when the message “America is at war” rang throughout your house?  How are you handling the rumors and scandal?
This news shouldn`t be “news” to a Christian.  God`s Word has prepared us by telling what will happen.  There will be wars and rumors of more war.  But God has also told us that we are not to fear these events.  Why?  Because we have hope through Christ Jesus, we are redeemed and know our outcome.  We thank you Lord Jesus for revealing the Truth through your Holy Spirit about our future!

Rescue the Perishing
Do you remember a young man named Joseph?  About everything you could imagine was going wrong in his life.  He was sold into slavery twice, accused of rape, sent to prison and left for dead.  In all this, Joseph had remembered one thing…God loved him.  God never forgot about Joseph.
Because Joseph remembered God, God remembered him and rescued a man who would have perished.  God took him out of the impossible situation and made Joseph a great leader.
God will do it for you too, if you remember to call on Him as Joseph did.  God cares about every aspect of your life and wants to hear from you.  Believe God and that He wants to help you.  Call on Him; draw near to Him and He will come.
Do you have a friend or loved one who isn`t coping with the news of the day?  Share your faith and hope in your salvation through Christ Jesus.  Help them to know the comfort that can only come through Jesus, through your witness. (2 Timothy 1:7; Matthew 24:6)

It Will Be Well
“Though a sinner does evil 100 times, and his days are prolonged,
yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God,
who fear before Him.” (Ecc. 8:12)
Sometimes we ask questions like, “Why did this great kid have to die, but this grumpy, mean, old man keep on living?” I don`t know why these things seem off balance, but God does.
The Bible tells us that God`s grace is for all people, but there will be a time when the sinner will be judged.  Those who disregard the Word of God will be punished.  Those who fear God are given the promises that it will be well in the end.
As we remember our military men and women who have served us well, don`t get discouraged, God is watching and will judge the hearts of men.  Our hope is in the Lord, so let us rejoice in saying:
“it will be well” when we see Jesus. (cw)

Memorial to a Soldier
Standing by the graveside, it was a cold and windy day in April.  Family and a few friends gathered to say their final good-byes to a loved one who had served us well.  In her long life, this woman daily ministered to others and put her needs second.  She was a real soldier in overcoming the tragedies in her own life.  Yet she never talked about her battles.
She never married, never owned a home or drove a car.  Few people told her they loved her.  Her requests were few, but those of peace for her country.
As we celebrate Memorial Day this year and show appreciation for those who have served us in war, let`s take a moment to be thankful for those who served here on the home front.  There are soldiers in life who never go to battle, but battle in prayer for those who do.  On Memorial Day I will remember those who have served for my freedom and prayed for it as well, so that we might live a godly and peaceable life.  God bless the faithful.
