Birds Give Voice

We`ve heard that listening ears could be everywhere, but did you ever think that you had to watch what you say around birds?

Ecclesiastes 10:20 bids us to not talk about those who rule over us, or to be envious or jealous of those who are rich.  We aren`t even to think these thoughts at bedtime because a little bird could carry your words off and tell the matter.  In other words, the devil and his co-workers are listening to you!  Watch what you say.

Since you never know who is listening or who wants to drag your name through the mud, its best to give no voice to adverse matters. Let God handle your life and speak only His Words, that way if a bird wants to gossip and carry a tale, he will be spreading the Gospel!  (J/CW)

Rise and Shine

When I was a teenager, the family that I lived with would call me in the morning to “rise and shine”.  It was a nice way of getting me out from under the covers and on my way to school.

In Isaiah 60:1 we are told to “Arise, shine…the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.”

The glory of the Lord shall be seen on us!  John 12:36 says, “While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.”  What does all this mean to us?  It means that since the glory of the Lord is upon us and we believe in the light (which is Jesus Christ) we are to “rise and shine” and be an example, a witness, and a testimony of that Light.

So tomorrow morning when you wake up, remind yourself to “rise and shine”, because the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!  (JW)

Never Give Your “UP”

“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed…” (II Corinthians 4:8)

Are you tempted to throw in the towel; to walk away, to seclude yourself from others and life itself?  Are you even tempted to walk away from God?  Our  scripture passage sums up a lot of things in life and ministry when we feel discouraged.  But remember your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (I Corin. 15:58)

These words need to be part of our daily conversation, “never give up”!  I like to say it this way: NEVER GIVE YOUR “UP”!  Up is a position in life.  It is yours; yours to be up and not down. Never give up your position to stay on top or “up”.

God never gives up, walks out, or turns His back on us.  He is there to pick us up when we fall and restores us to the proper “up” position.  No matter what it looks like, never give your “up” again! (JW)
“If the iron is blunt, and he does not whet (sharpen the blade) the edge, then must he put to more strength (use more effort): but wisdom is profitable (beneficial) to direct (the solution).”

Starting Over

There are times in every believer`s life when something from our past rises up in our thinking and tries to condemn us.  We must know first and foremost that it is the devil, not God, bringing these things back to our remembrance.

The condemning thoughts can take no root in your life because the Word of God says that “There is no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who walk not after  flesh but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1)

We cannot and must not try to go back and change the past.  We must start new…make a new starting point in our lives, putting God at the forefront, and taking up our position right behind Him.

God is a God of second chances.  The shed blood of His Son has covered all of your sins.  Start over with Him at the helm of your life.  He will deliver you out of all your troubles. (JW)
