Made to Be Free

“And God said, Let us make man in Our own image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion (full power and authority) over all the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”  (Genesis 1:26)

God created man in His Own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created He them.

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”  (Genesis 1:26-28)

Freedom…the authority and power of dwelling without regulation over what belongs to you! Free - domain (dominion)!  Freedom or shall I say, free domain has always been God`s idea and plan for His children.

When God planted man into this world as a seed, it was for His children to be eternally free and have full domain (dominion) over the land, which God gave him.

Adam had full freedom to do what he willed and wanted.  We know he had such authority because God spoke it into existence with His conversation with Adam in the Garden of
Eden.

“And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he (Adam) would call them: and what ever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof (given to it).  (Genesis 2:19)

The authority given to man was so great that God even left naming of the animals and living creatures up to Adam.  Whatever Adam called the animal, it became so.  God approved of it and left it alone as a done deal.

Once more Adam was given power and authority from God with the freedom inside his domain to name the female race of man.  It was Adam who told God that he would name the female man, Woman.

“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she will be called Woman, because she was taken out of man.” (Genesis 2:23)

The Word of God said, “She will be called.” Adam spoke with authority to God through the authority given to him by God.  It was also Adam who gave his wife her name, not God.

“And Adam called his wife`s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.” (Genesis 3:20)

Whatever Adam called anything, God didn`t change.  It was man`s domain and he was able to have the freedom to do what he wanted and call it whatever he wanted.  Why?  Because it was his free domain and he made up the rules.

“And God said, Let us make man in our own image…” (Genesis 1:26) meant man had power and freedom over his own domain like God had over His.  Man`s word in this world was as powerful as God`s because all authority was given to man by God.

Because man was made in the image and likeness of God, whatever he spoke would come to pass just as God spoke this world into existence.  (See Genesis 1 …and God said..)

God never changed or took back Adam`s (and Eve`s) authority for freedom in this world.  Adam changed his freedom and willingly spoke himself into .  By his own authority in his spoken word (Genesis 3), he gave away his freedom that was freely given to man by God.

“Jesus answered them, Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin, and a slave does not abide in the (master`s) house forever, but a son abides forever.”  (John 8:34-35)

Sin entered the world through Adam and Eve`s disobedience, and so did and slavery.  Man was now slave to the things of the devil because authority was no longer his.   and slavery came from satan.  He imposes the opposite of what God wants in everything, especially freedom.   The devil wants everything for himself, because he cares for no one else or nothing else but himself.  God wants us to have everything, which included freedom because he loves us.

Why didn`t God give Adam back his freedom?  Because freedom came with a price.  The price or cost of Adam`s freedom meant he had to maintain it (his freedom) and keep anything away that would steal it from him or try to take it away from his family.

“…and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
 (Genesis 1:26-28)

God didn`t take anything from Adam; he gave it away.  How could God give something back that He never took or that wasn`t His?  Adam`s freedom was his, and his to do with what he wanted.  He made a bad choice by not keeping dominion over the animals and allowing satan to enter into a living creature that was on the earth and God`s Garden.

We know that Adam missed the mark when he let satan into the Garden of Eden.  Another way of saying it is that Adam let satan into his free domain.  He let him into a place he had dominion over.  God knew this would happen and provided a way for us to regain our freedom and have free dominion over God`s gift to man.

Yes, we enjoy freedom, but it still comes with a price.  Jesus paid the price for the remission of all sin, and took back our free domain from the devil.  He took it back so He could put it back in our hands.

To have freedom, means to have rule or authority over something as you see fit.  As believers, Jesus is to have rule over us in all that we do in order to maintain the freedom He bought back for us at Calvary.  Jesus lives in us, so we are His domain and we are not to let satan back into the garden so to speak, as Adam did.  We are to subdue the works of the devil so they are of no effect on us, and have dominion over our own lives.  We are not to get caught up in the lies of the devil anymore, because in the liberty (permission to be free) given by Jesus, He has made us free.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of .” (Galatians 5:1)

Just as Adam had freedom given to him by God, we have that same freedom once again because of the authority of Jesus given to us through salvation.
“Therefore if the Son (Jesus) makes you free (through salvation), you will be free indeed.”  (John 8:36)

Freedom has noting to do with the country you live in now, but it is the place you will spend eternity.  Where will you have a free domain forever?  Even in a country that boasts freedom, there are regulations and rules to follow.  Your freedom lies in knowing you will live eternally with the real Father of freedom and Jesus who has made you free.  So live free knowing your freedom is a gift from God and take back dominion over your own life!

authority
over what
happens in
our lives!
Man became
a slave by choice... the will to disobey God and fall into sin.

Through salvation, man became free when Jesus took the sin on Himself releasing him from any form or type of slavery and that ever was or would come
on him.
You can have freedom over sin and death by asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins that keep you in .
Ask Jesus into your heart today.   Salvation Prayer
Thank you Jesus
for my freedom!
