Showers of Blessings
by Pastor Jim Wandell

Listening to the weather report on the evening news can cause people
to think that rain is an evil thing.  “Another rainy weekend, when will all of this bad weather end?”  They don`t seem to realize that if they want food to eat and water to drink, it must rain.

God has promised showers of blessing upon His people.  Not just the physical blessing of rain, but the showers of blessing that come from the Spirit of God to the spirit of man!  These blessings come in the form of dwelling in peace and safety, health and healing, and living a prosperous and blessed life of abundance here on earth.

So the next time the weather forecast calls for rain, be uplifted and give thanks to the Lord for ALL the showers of blessing that are coming your way!  There shall be showers of blessing…this is the promise of God!

Living To Give
by Pastor Jim Wandell

The issue of finances is one of if not the most critical issue that families face today.  Husbands and wives are at odds over finances.  Households suffer because not enough money is coming in.  In fact, over half of the arguments in any marriage can find its basis in the area and issues of money.

We have determined that in order to operate in this world, we must have money.  You can`t walk into Macy`s with a chicken and a goat and buy yourself that new outfit.  That is no longer an accepted practice.  The need for money has caused many rational, normal people to do irrational and abnormal things.

The fear of not having enough money has caused people to become covetous and stingy, the Church included.  They feel that if they give they will no longer have.  And that is a lie that satan is more than willing to promote.  (Read Luke 6:38).  You see, the harvest is in the seed that you sow.  Left unplanted, nothing will grow and you will have no harvest.  The devil knows that and will do any thing that he can to prevent you from sowing and reaping the promised harvest.

How many times, church, have you purposed in your heart to give over and above your tithe, then something comes up that may prevent you from giving.  That is the devil.  He knows what God`s Word says and he knows that the seed is dangerous to his plan.

If he can keep you in fear over giving, if he can keep you argumentative about tithing and giving, he can be instrumental in blessings being blocked that were intended for you.

Church we need to live to give!  Our whole life is to be a witness for the Lord, We need to finally put our foot down and stand up to the devil and give like we have never given before!

Would you let someone come into your house and tell your kids that mommy and daddy are broke and that they will never have enough money to buy them a bike, a car, or to even put presents under the tree at Christmas because, “times are tough and money sure doesn`t go as far as it used to”?  Yet Christians walk around all the time putting on the “poor mouth” and speaking those things to their kids.  Why?  Because they lack faith where giving is concerned.

Giving mingled with faith is the proper mix for an abundant harvest.  Here is something that you might want to write down.  It is something that I have found to be true, in most cases, without fail.  If a person doesn`t have faith in God in the area of finances, then they will have a difficult time standing in faith in other areas of their life such as health and healing, peace, and victory.  Its true!  If you can`t believe God to supply you with the $1.98 that you need, how are you going to believe that He will deliver your body from sickness and disease?

Living to give is a lifestyle that is honoring and pleasing to the Lord.  Jesus had that type of lifestyle.  Turn to John 13 starting at verse 27.  “…Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.  Now no man at the table knew for what intent He spake this unto him.  For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.”

First of all, notice that Judas Iscariot was the treasurer.  He had the bag of money.  This affirms that Jesus was NOT poor.  How many poor men do you know that have a treasurer with them 24 hours a day?  Secondly, when Judas got up and left in the middle of this time of fellowship, no one questioned the reason for his leaving.  It is quite evident that Jesus had sent him out many times before to give to someone or to take care of someone`s needs, even in the middle of the night!

The proof in this is the lack of concern by the remaining 11, especially Peter, and  (the sons of thunder) James and John.  They all just took it for granted that Judas was sent on a charitable mission.  Why?  Because Jesus lived to give.

Jesus Christ willingly gave Himself for us on the cross at Calvary.  Jesus was born to give, He lived to give, He died to give, He rose again to give, and He lives forevermore to GIVE!  But do we live to give to Him?

Too many believers today seem to forget the fact that God sees everything that we do, which includes tithes and offerings.  Maybe they just hope He is watching someone else at that time.

You see God knows whether or not you have tithed.  He also knows how much money you make and what you are willing to give.  Notice I didn`t say what you think you can afford to give, but rather what you are willing to give.  Other than the ten percent commanded as the tithe which is holy unto the Lord, God is not concerned with the amount you give.  He is concerned with your heart.  What you feel in your heart as you give.  Your willingness.  What kind of spirit you are bringing to the altar!

Let's start a new life TODAY, right now.  A life of giving.  A life of sowing seed toward an abundant harvest.  A life that is well-pleasing unto the Lord.  Lets purpose in our hearts not to give grudgingly or of necessity. But let us gather at the altar willingly, CHEERFULLY, and excitedly as we bring the tithes and sow the seeds of offering, mingling them with our faith, knowing that what God has promised, He is faithful to perform.  Establish a life of giving and God will establish you in a life of abundance!
Opportunity to Increase
by Pastor Jim Wandell

Throughout our lives, we have been given opportunities.  Many times we don`t see them as such until after the opportunity has passed.

Living a life that is well pleasing to God, living according to His Word and His Will, whether we realize it or not, offers us great opportunity every day.  The opportunity to make a difference in this world, to lead someone to Christ, to pray for someone`s healing, to make a difference for the Kingdom of God.  The opportunity that we want to talk about today is the “Opportunity to Increase”.

God has put into motion things that we call “Natural Laws”.  Things like gravity, rain, creation itself.  You can be walking on the edge of a roof and slip off.  You will quickly find that the law of gravity works when you are lying on the ground looking back up at where you had just been.  If another person defies that law, the same thing will happen to them.  Natural law.  If I plant a tomato seed and you plant a tomato seed, we will both get tomato plants.  Natural law.  Rain.  Rain falls on your land just as it falls on the land of terrorists.  Rain is part of the natural law.  Matthew 5:45 “…He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”  Did you ever wonder why the unsaved are able to be rich and live well and be successful?  Here is your answer.  They take part in the natural laws.  Work, invent, plant, discover, then reap the benefits.

Unfortunately many believers are living their lives receiving only from the natural aspect of things.  Today, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, we are going to learn how to receive by way of the supernatural things of God.  The point in your life when you get God involved in your finances and He adds His SUPER to your natural.

Right after the flood, in Genesis 8:22, God declared, “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease…”  So born again believers, while the earth remains, you and I have the opportunity to increase.
As you look through the Bible, most references to prosperity are in the form of harvest through the planting of seed.  Nothing in all of God`s creation generates more than a planted seed.  Picture one watermelon seed.  You plant it and get a nice vine that produces maybe six (6) big juicy melons.  Is that your harvest?  No, the true harvest is inside of the melons.  The new seed.  From one seed sown you could possibly get thousands of new seeds.  How does that happen?  By God multiplying seed sown.  Isaiah 55:10 says that God, “gives seed to the sower”.
Second Corinthians 9:10 also states,

“Now He that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for
your food, and multiply your seed sown,
and increase the fruits of your righteousness.”

Most of the early farmers only had the seed as their wealth.  Think about that.  Your entire earthly fortune based on a sack of seeds!  Now knowing that in order for Mr. Farmer to prosper beyond that one sack, he would have to seize the opportunity to sow more seed to get more seed, right?  Knowing also that God has said if you sow seed, I will give you more seed, we would think that the farmer is a couple bales short of a full load if he doesn`t sow more and more seed, wouldn`t we?  After all, the Word says if we sow sparingly, we will reap sparingly.

Well then what about us?  Our wealth in today`s society is gauged by the amount of money we have in our “sack”.  Our money is our seed.  Now using the same principle of sowing and reaping, and knowing that God multiplies seed back to the sower, what do we think about ourselves if we sow only a little seed?  Remember, sow sparingly, reap sparingly?  It pertains to financial seed as well as watermelon seeds!

A verse that we are all very familiar with is Luke 6:38, “Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.  For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

What does this verse say that we have to do to have it given unto us?  Give!  In order for us to reap a harvest, we have to plant a crop.  This verse also goes right back to sowing sparingly, reaping sparingly in that it says that whatever form of measurement you use that is the same form of measurement that will be used to measure it back to you again.  In plain language, don`t go measuring out your giving in a teaspoon and expect a 55- gallon drum return!

God gives us the opportunity to increase through sowing our financial seed first into the Gospel of Jesus Christ and then into the lives of others.

Seed is precious.  It needs to be guarded.  Why?  Because the harvest is in the seed.  If it is eaten up or left unplanted, there will be no harvest.

God has made us a promise, “Give and it shall be given”.  He has set a law in motion for us, “sow abundantly reap abundantly.”  God provides the opportunity, the seed to sow, and the harvest!  That should make you want to shout!

Remember, as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest will not cease.  As long as you remain on this earth, you have the opportunity to increase.  Will you take that opportunity or will you let it pass you by?  The choice is yours.

God is My Source
by Pastor Jim Wandell

There is a sign in our church and in our home that reads, “God is my Source.”  Our jobs provide an income, but the source still came from God.

Understanding that God is your source and supplier of all your needs will open opportunities for the better job, increase of pay and abundance of all good things.  God is our source, not man or our job.  People change and so do our jobs, but God the supplier never does.

No matter where you work or get your seed from (money), remember that God made it possible for it to be given to you.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ (the Anointed One and His Anointing) Jesus.”
